William Wagner

William Wagner, 72, Wimbledon, ND, died Thursday afternoon August 31, 2006 at the Hi-Acres Manor in Jamestown, ND.

William Wagner was born October 10, 1933 near Lincoln Valley, ND the son of William P. Wagner and Katie (Helm) Wagner. He attended the local rural school where he received his elementary education and grew to manhood in the vicinity.

He entered the United States Army in 1953. He served in New Jersey and Fort Riley, Kansas. He was discharged in 1955.

He and Evelyn Haakenson were married in 1956 at Carrington, ND. They made their home at Grace City, ND where he worked doing construction and helping on his father's farm. They moved to Nebraska where he attended the community college for a couple of years, later doing construction work at Kearney, NE. He moved to Spokane, WA where he was an operating engineer. In 1988 he moved back to Wimbledon, ND for his retirement. In August of 2006 he entered the Hi-Acres Manor at Jamestown.

He is survived by his 3 children, Kurtis Wagner, Jamestown, ND, Jenene Zimney, Fargo, ND, Jerry (Valeri Glass) Wagner, Jamestown, ND, 8 grandchildren, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters, LeRoy (Jill) Wagner, Spokane, WA, Arley (Elsie) Wagner, Carrington, ND, Leona (Daniel) Kindt, Kearney, NE, Alvin Wagner, Sulfur Springs, TX, Alice (Don) Willey, Carrington, ND, Douglas (Karen) Wagner, Clitherall, MN, and Terri (William) Gressett, Holdrege, NE.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, Corey, 2 grandsons, Max and Matthew, and 1 sister, Alvina.

There will be a private memorial service at a later date.
