Wilbert W. Mayer, 85, Jamestown, ND died Wednesday July 14, 2010 at Hi-Acres Manor in Jamestown, ND.
Wilbert Mayer was born November 26, 1924 on the family farm NW of Streeter, ND, the son of Emil O. Mayer and Elizabeth (Moser) Mayer. He received his elementary education at the local rural school and worked on the family farm as he grew to manhood.
He and Erma Fercho were married June 17, 1948 north of Lehr, ND. They made their home in the Streeter-Lehr area where he farmed. In 1963 they moved to north of Medina, later moving south of Medina in 1965. In 1976 they moved to a farm in Eldridge where they raised sheep, and he also did scrap iron work. They moved to Jamestown, ND in February of 2010.
He attended the First Assembly of God Church in Jamestown.
He is survived by his wife Erma, Jamestown, ND; 2 daughters, Evelyn (Dennis) Hofmann, Grace City, ND; Kathy (Wayne) Mittleider, Tappen, ND; 1 daughter-in-law Debbie Mayer, Twin Valley, MN; 7 grandchildren, Lonnie Hofman; Theresa (Justin) Iverson; Renae Utke; Kimberly (Bob) Lundquist; Shawn (Corinne) Mayer; Tiffany (Shuan) Pringle; Patrick (Ashley) Mittleider; 10 great grandchildren, Jessica and Mason Iverson; Drew, Ethan and Bryce Utke; Christian and Courtney Lundquist; Micah Pringle; Taryn Mittleider; Abigail Mayer; 2 brothers, Eddie (Doris) Mayer, Streeter, ND; Eugene (Ramona) Mayer, Medina, ND; 2 sisters, Loraine (Walter) Ruff, Colorado Springs, CO and Martha Ruff, Jamestown, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, David, 1 brother Paul and 1 sister Clara.
The Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday July 20, 2010 at the First Assembly of God Church in Jamestown, ND with Pastor Darrell Losing, officiating.
The Interment will be at the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Jamestown, ND.
Prayer Service - Monday 7:00 PM at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown.
Visitation - 9AM - 8 PM Monday at the Funeral Home
