Walter Kleingartner, 82, Jamestown, ND died early Monday morning November 20, 2006 at Central Dakota Nursing Home in Jamestown, ND.

Walter Kleingartner was born April 15, 1924 on the family farm northwest of Fredonia, ND, the son of Edward Kleingartner and Pauline (Dittus) Kleingartner. He attended the local rural school achieving the 10th grade. He helped on the family farm and grew to manhood in the vicinity.

He and Evangeline Schweigert were married November 23, 1954 in Fredonia, ND. They made their home NW of Fredonia farming. In 1994 they moved into Fredonia. In August of 2006 they moved to Jamestown, ND.

He was a member of the Nazareth Congregational Church of Fredonia where he was an usher for many years. He was also very active in the Fredonia senior Citizens. His hobbies included bike riding, woodworking and reading. He also enjoyed his children and grandchildren very much.

He is survived by his wife, Evangeline, Jamestown, ND; 3 sons, Douglas (Sue) Kleingartner, Fargo, ND; Russell (Kim) Kleingartner, Jamestown, ND; Michael (Jenny) Kleingartner, Milnor, ND; 3 daughters, Carol (Dave) Stringer Ft. Collins, CO: Patty (Monte) Williams, New Rockford, ND; Karen (Bryan) Batsch Gackle, ND; 14 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 4 sisters, Gertie Mueller, Fargo, ND; Marion Rossman, Fredonia, ND; Katie Haag, Kulm, ND and Evangeline Spravzoff, Aurora, CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter and 2 brothers, William and Theophil (David).

The Funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Friday November 24, 2006 at the Nazareth Congregational Church in Fredonia, ND with Rev. Ken Ballard officiating.

The interment will be at the Fredonia Cemetery in Fredonia, ND.

Arrangements are with the Haut Funeral Homes in Jamestown, ND

Visitation: 9 - 9 Wednesday and 1- 5 Thursday at the Funeral home.
