Violet Entzi

Violet Entzi, 98, Lehr, ND died Friday April 7, 2023 at the Gackle Care Center in Gackle, ND.

Violet was born April 2, 1925 at Oakes, ND, the daughter of Herman and Bertha (Hill) Huse. In 1926 they moved to a farm south of Berlin, ND where she went to school in the Rosenthal District. She then went to school at Ashley and graduated from Ashley High School in 1943. Violet finished her education at Ellendale Normal Industrial School with a teaching certificate.

She and Harold Entzi were married June 20, 1948 and made their home on a farm SW of Fredonia where they farmed for 61 years. Violet also taught school for 6 years in Antelope, Hoffnungsthal and Lehr.  Following the death of her husband in 2004 she continued to live on the farm. She moved into Lehr in the fall of 2010 and entered the Gackle Care Center in September of 2022.

She was a member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church, and was a steady listener of the church of the air. She was also a 4-H Leader for 29 years and kept busy crocheting, sewing and all kinds of crafts. She and Harold worked the voting polls for many years.

Violet is survived by her children, Bruce Entzi, Lehr, ND; Donald (Kristin) Entzi, Fredonia, ND; Paulette (Richard) Clifton, Johnson Creek, WI; 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 2004; 1 son, Gregory in 2006; 1 grandson, Paul; 1 granddaughter, LoRee; 2 brothers, Harold & Wilfred and 2 sisters, Marjorie & Helen.
