Villary Olive Sward

Villary Olive Sward, 87, Jamestown, ND died Saturday November 17, 2007 at the Hi-Acres Manor in Jamestown, ND.

Villary Swan was born May 10, 1920 at Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of John O. Swan and Agnes E. (Hammerbeck) Swan. She attended school in Minneapolis and graduated from Roosevelt High in 1938. She worked at Pillsbury as a computer operator.

She and Lloyd D. (Hap) Sward were married July 15, 1949 at Minneapolis, MN. They made their home there until moving to Chicago in 1951 where she worked as a computer operator for Kroeger. She later worked for the Rock Island Railroad. Following the death of her husband in 1968 she continued to work as a computer operator until her retirement in 1981. She moved to Jamestown in 1987 and entered the Rock of Ages.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Hazel Swan, Valley City, ND, 2 nephews, Jon Swan, Fargo, ND, and Darrel (Barbara) Brostrom, Orlando, FL.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 2 brothers, Lawrence and Lowell.

The graveside service will be at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday November 21, 2007 in the Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
