Thomas Vandeberghe, 64, Gackle, ND died December 29, 2007 at the Jamestown Hospital in Jamestown, ND.
Thomas Vandeberghe was born September 21, 1943 at Oregon City, OR, the son of John H. Vandeberghe and Stella (Barnick) Vandeberghe. He attended school near Cleveland and Millarton and received his GED in Jamestown.
He and Kathy Rude were married October 30, 1964 at Jamestown, ND. They made their home on a farm south of Cleveland until 1975 when they bought the Melvin Mayer Farm SE of Streeter. They are presently raising commercial Angus cattle and also farming.
He was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gackle, the Streeter Co-op Board, and active lobbyist and spokesman/board member of the Central Grassland Research Station in Streeter, ND. He enjoyed time with his family, grandchildren and beautiful wife of 43 years.
He is survived by his wife Kathy, Gackle, ND, 2 sons, Mark (Becky) Vandeberghe, Carpenter, WY, Paul (Lori) Vandeberghe, Cleveland, ND, 5 grandchildren, Ashley, Ambria & Alyssa Vandeberghe, Carpenter, WY, Alexis and Kelsey Vandeberghe, Cleveland, ND, 2 brothers and 6 sisters, Virginia Rixen, Fond Du Lac, WI, Sister Mary Theresa (Irene Vanderberghe), Mount Calvary, WI, Valeria (Ted) Heath, Salina, UT, John L. (Marge) Vandeberghe, Cleveland, ND, Patricia Purcell, Lincoln City, OR, Elaine (Mark) Hammond, Silver Lake, OR, Theresa (Bob) Ferguson, Woodburn, OR, Jerry (Carol) Vandeberghe, Milwaukie, OR, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 brother-in-law, Anthony J. Rixen.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday January 3, 2008 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gackle, ND with Rev. Russ Pollock, pastor officiating.
The interment will be made in the Gackle Cemetery at Gackle, ND.
Prayer Service - 7:00 P.M. Wednesday @ the church in Gackle
Visitation - 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. Wednesday @ the Funeral Home in Gackle.
