Thilmer Willie Hehr

Thilmer Willie Hehr, 66, Sacramento, CA, passed away Tuesday October 31, 2006 at his home in Sacramento, after a long courageous battle with cancer.

Thilmer Hehr was born May 7, 1940 at Fredonia, ND, the son of Emil Hehr and Emma (Buerkle) Hehr. He attended school in Fredonia and grew to manhood in the vicinity. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1963 and served 2 years in Germany until 1965 when he was discharged at Fort Carson, CO. He returned home where he worked on the family farm and drilled wells in North Dakota until moving to Miami, FL in 1968 where he began working as a Carpenter, Mason, along with many other talents. In that time, he worked for Curtis and Kaplan of North Miami Beach. In 1985 he moved to Sacramento, CA with his family where he resided until the time of his death.

He was a member of the Carpenters Union, lifetime member of the American Legion Post #1 in Sacramento. He was an avid fisherman and loved spending time on the water in one of his boats out on Pardee Lake. When he wasn't fishing, he was always lending a helping hand or hammer to a family member, friend or colleague.

He is survived by his 3 girls from his marriage to Joni Hehr, Robin Carlson, Sacramento, CA, Tresa Hehr Braham, MN, Silivia Hehr, Wishek, ND, 2 grandchildren, Kiarah Hehr, Braham, MN, and James Carlson, Sacramento, CA, 3 sisters and 3 brothers, Lucille Kennedy, Jamestown, ND, Lester (Arlene) Hehr, Fredonia, ND, Eulla Wolf, Fredonia, ND, Diane Hehr, Monticello, MN, Donald Hehr, Miramar, FL, and Larry (Maureen) Hehr, Colorado Springs, CO.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and 3 brothers, Dillard, Alvin and Leroy.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Thursday November 9, 2006 in the Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Fredonia, ND, with Pastor Brandon Woodruff, officiating.

The interment will be made in the Martin Luther Lutheran Cemetery at Fredonia, ND.
