Rose Rohrer, 97, Medina, ND died Friday evening October 24, 2008 the Med Center One Hospital in Bismarck, ND.
Rose Dewalt was born June 22, 1911 at the family farm home west of Ashley, ND, the daughter of George Dewalt Sr. and Rosabell (Hart) Dewalt. She attended the local rural school where she received her elementary education later attended Ashley High School and grew to womanhood in the vicinity. She did housework for a few years in the area.
She and John Rohrer were married May 15, 1941 at Jamestown, ND. They made their home near Goldwin, ND where they maintained a cattle ranch until 1971 when they moved into Woodworth where she did housework and worked at the school for 5 years. Following the death of her husband April 29, 1977 she continued to reside in Woodworth until moving to Medina. In 2005 she entered the Golden Manor at Steele.
She was a member of English Lutheran Church at Medina, active in the ladies aid and enjoyed quilting with the ladies. She was also a member of the Medina Over 50 Club.
She is survived by 1 brother and 4 sisters, Elmer Dewalt, Galion, OH, Cleo Lee, Grace Otto, both of California, Edna Reid Galion, OH, Florence Sailer, Plaza, ND, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 5 brothers and 3 sisters.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 A. M. Wednesday October 29, 2008 at the English Lutheran Church in Medina, ND, with Rev. Chris Hogstad, pastor officiating.
The interment will be made in the Sunset Memorial Gardens at Jamestown, ND.
