Robert Fennern, 92, Jamestown, ND died Sunday, January 14, 2024 at his home in Jamestown.
Bob was born May 6, 1931 on the family farm north of Medina, the son of August and Louise (Hoffmann) Fennern. He attended elementary school in Jamestown until going back to work full time on the family farm. At 17 years old, he was part of the team that worked on the Garrison Dam.
He and Edna Bitz were married in 1951 at Jamestown, ND where they made their home. Bob began working for the butcher shop for 5 years, then went to Beaver’s processing. In 1967, he began working for Stoltz Plumbing & Heating and later Arneson’s. In 1974 he started Bob’s Plumbing & Heating where he worked until 2006; he officially retired in 2011.
He and Patty Randall were married in August 13, 2011 at Jamestown, ND. They made their home there where they have resided since.
Bob loved pinochle, hunting & fishing, in 1956 he built a cabin on Lake Ashtabula. He also had a love for hockey, he helped build all of the outdoor hockey rink boards in his garage, that are used in the parks in Jamestown. He was a member of Jamestown Sertoma.
Bob is survived by his wife, Patty; 4 children, Geraldine Krahler, Thomas (Shauna), and Dwight, all of Jamestown; David (Nanci), Bismarck, ND; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 3 stepchildren, Mark (Patti) Randall, Witchita, KS; Michelle (Wade) Anderson, Hunter, ND; Wesley (Desiree) Randall, Robinson, ND; 4 step-granddaughters; and 2 siblings, Fred (Mary Lou) and Rosemary Fennern, both of Bismarck, ND.
He is preceded in death by his parents and 3 siblings, James, Mary Timm, and Dorothy Moser and first wife, Edna.
