Richard Fregien

Richard Fregien, 86, died Friday morning December 19, 2008 at the Ave Maria Village in Jamestown, ND.

Richard Fregien was born March 9, 1922, north of Jud, ND, the son of Gottlieb Fregien and Mary (Nitschke) Fregien. He attended the local rural school where he received his elementary education. He helped on the family farm and grew to manhood in the vicinity.

He farmed the family farmstead with his brothers until retiring in 1980. He moved into Jud in 1998. In 2004 he entered the Central Dakota Village until moving to LaMoure Care Center in 2007. He returned to the Ave Maria Village in November of 2008.

He was a member of member of the UCC Church in Jud

He is survived by his 2 sisters, Anna Pfaff, Jud, ND: Viola Pfaff, LaMoure, ND: 2 nieces and 7 nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers and 1 sister in infancy.

The funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM Tuesday December 23, 2008 in the Haut Funeral Chapel at Jamestown, ND, with Pastor Bryce Tahran, officiating.

The interment will be at Congregational Cemetery at Jud, ND.
