Reuben S. Kranzler, 90, Fargo, North Dakota formerly of Jamestown, ND died Friday morning April 28, 2006 in the Bethany Homes in Fargo.
Reuben was born October 11, 1915 at Fredonia, ND the son of Adam Kranzler and Margaret (Lippert) Kranzler. He receceived his elementary education in the Lehr School and grew to manhood in the vicinity.
He and Helen O. Kautz were married September 30, 1941 at Lehr, ND.
They made their home in Lehr, ND. He entered the United States Army September 30, 1942 at Ft. Snelling, MN. He served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater receiving the service metal. He also received the Bronze Service Arrowhead, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal and two Bronze Service Stars. He was discharged January 19, 1946 at Fort Lewis, WA with the Rank of Tec 5. He returned to Lehr where he did various jobs until 1951 when they moved to Jamestown. He worked at the Brass Rail for 26 years until 1977 when he retired. Following the death of his wife December 21, 2000 he continued to reside in Jamestown until October 2003 when he entered the Veterans Home in Lisbon, ND. In May of 2004 he entered Bethany Homes in Fargo, ND.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Surviving are 3 sisters, Edna Kern, Sunnyside, WA, Viola Becker, Wishek, ND, Delores (Eugene) Holzworth, Bismarck, ND and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and 2 brothers, Ervin and Raymond.
The Funeral Service will be at 3:00 PM Tuesday May 2, 2006 in the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, North Dakota with Rev. Dick Boyd, officiating.
Interment will be made in the Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND
Arrangements are by the Haut Funeral Homes, Jamestown, ND.
Visitation 9-8 Monday at the Funeral Home.
