Ralph L. Fiechtner, 74, Jamestown, ND died Wednesday evening February 20, 2008 at his home in Jamestown, ND
Ralph was born July 11, 1933 near Lehr, ND, the son of Gustav Fiechtner and Hulda (Koenig) Fiechtner. He received his elementary in the local rural school and grew to manhood in the vicinity where he helped on the family farm.
He entered the US Army January of 1955 at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. He was discharged on January 11, 1957 at Ft. Lewis, WA with the rank of PFC. He and Norma Rasmusson were married at Bremerton, WA on January 19, 1957. On February 18, 1977 he married Loretta (Veil) Muller in Jamestown, ND. They resided in Jamestown and he continued to farm by Lehr until 1988 when he retired. Following his retirement they have continued to reside in Jamestown.
He was a member of the Atonement Lutheran Church in Jamestown, ND. He loved playing the accordion and the organ.
Surviving are his wife, Loretta, 3 daughters Angela (Charles) Knapp, Fargo, ND, Sheila Fiechtner, Plymouth, MN, Cindy Thurmon, Bremerton, WA, 1 son, Randy (Carolyn) Fiechtner, West Fargo, ND, 1 step-daughter, Kristie (Dan) Hermanson, Zimmerman, MN, 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Marvin (Maryann) Fiechtner, Wishek, ND, 1 sister, Verdella Jackson, Vista, CA.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother, Elroy.
The Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. Monday February 25, 2008 in Antonement Lutheran Church in Jamestown, ND with Rev. Steve Bernston, pastor officiating.
Interment will be made in the Highland Home Cemetery at Jamestown, ND
