Paul G. Gienger

Paul Gienger, 90, Gackle, ND died Thursday April 25, 2013 at the Wishek Living Center in Wishek, ND.

Paul Gienger was born May 4, 1922 southwest of Gackle, ND, the son of Jacob Gienger and Christina (Lippert) Gienger. He received his elementary education at the School #1 in Neudorf Township and helped on the family farm.

He and Violet Zenker were married June 1, 1947 at the Neudorf Lutheran Church. They made their home on the family farm where he farmed until his retirement in 1987. They moved into Gackle in the fall of 1992 and he drove school bus for the Gackle Public School for 5 years. He entered the Wishek Living Center in 2010.

He was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran church in Gackle. He also was trustee on the church council. He was a member of the Gackle Wildlife Club.

He is survived by his wife, Violet, Wishek, ND; his children, Carol Morlock, Oxbow, ND; Clinton Gienger, West Fargo, ND; Sandra Fjeld, Lake Park, MN; Debbie Gienger, Bismarck, ND; 6 grandchildren, Corey Morlock, Fargo, ND; Nicole Morlock, Fargo, ND; Kayla Thykeson, Fargo, ND; David Gienger, Hillsboro, ND; Michelle Fjeld, Lake Park, MN; Heather Fjeld, Lake Park, MN, and 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and 6 sisters.

Funeral service - 10:30 am Monday April 29, 2013 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Gackle, ND with Rev. Linda Schauer, officiating.

Interment - Gackle Cemetery in Gackle, ND.

Visitation: 3-7 Sunday April 28, 2013 at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Gackle, ND.
