O Wilbert Elhard

O. Wilbert Elhard, 85, Jud, ND died Saturday afternoon July 19, 2014 at the Jamestown Regional Medical Center at Jamestown, ND.

Otto Wilbert Elhard was born May 8, 1929 at Jud, ND the son of John G. Elhard and Magdalena (Kuhn) Elhard. He received his elementary education in the local rural school and graduated from the Jud High School in 1946.

He and Evelyn Idella Bauer were married June 6, 1965. They made their home on a farm 9 miles SW of Jud. They later moved to a farm 3 miles west of Jud where they farmed until his retirement. Following his retirement they operated the Jud Supermarket for 8 years. After working as a custodian at the Kulm School for 3 years Wilbert fully retired.

He was a member of the Congregational Church, he served as Raney Township Assessor and Clerk for many years, member of the Jud School Board, assistant Sunday School Superintendent and taught Sunday School for many years, member of the Jud Lions.

Surviving are his wife Evelyn, Jud, ND his children, David Elhard, Jud, ND; Arlen (Belinda) Elhard, Jud, ND; Karen (James) Zubrod, Valley City, ND; Marjorie (Erik) Myrold, Grand Forks, ND; 5 grandchildren, Tyler Elhard, Austin Zubrod, Carson Zubrod, Brianna Myrold, Madison Myrold, step grandchild Cassie Hatch, step great grandchild Jacob Dahl, two sisters, Emma Heidinger, Gackle, ND; Esther (Charles) Ljungren, Sebeka, MN along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Reuben and Edwin, 3 sisters Otelia, Ruth and Emelia.

Memorial service will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday July 23, 2014 in the Haut Funeral Home in Jamestown, ND with Rev. Dr. Ray DeLaurier, officiating.

Interment will take place at a later date Kulm.
