Norman Glenn Frey, 81, Jamestown, ND died early Sunday morning April 11, 2010 at his home east of Jamestown, ND.
Norman was born January 30, 1929 at Jamestown, ND, the son of Elmer Frey and Adeline (Koehn) Frey. He attended Jamestown Public School and graduated from Jamestown High School in 1946. He helped on the family farm and grew to manhood.
He entered the United States Army January 16, 1951 at Jamestown. He served with the 188th Field Artillary Battlion at Camp Rucker, AL. He was discharged May of 1952 at Camp Rucker with the rank of CPL.
He and Dolores Bitterman were married August 15, 1951 at Jamestown, ND. After the service he returned home and they farmed east of Jamestown until 1992. They continued to reside on the farm.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Elks in Jamestown.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores, Jamestown, ND; 3 children, Mark (Cathy) Frey, Jamestown, ND; Annette (David) Johnson, Jamestown, ND; Kevin (Laurie) Frey, Blaine, MN; 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 1 sister and 1 brother, Esther Billstein, Billings, MT; Kenneth (Judy) Frey, Jamestown, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and 1 sister.
The memorial service will be at 7:30 P.M. Tuesday evening April 13, 2010 in the Haut Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND, with Rev. Ruth Kaden, officiating.
The burial will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday April 14, 2010 at the North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery at Mandan, ND.
