Milton William Schinke, 88, Jamestown, ND died Monday morning May 4, 2009 in the Ave Maria Village, Jamestown, ND.
Milton Schinke was born May 18, 1920 at Appleton, WI the son of Otto Schinke and Sylvia (Shepard) Schinke. He received his elementary education in the Bethleham Lutheran School and grew to manhood in the vicinity where he worked on the family farm.
He entered the US Army April 7, 1941 at Camp Shelby, Appleton, WI. He was discharged August 17, 1945 at Fort Sheridon, IL with the Rank of T-5 CPL.
He and Shirley Mae Hoffmann were married December 16, 1944 at Hortonville, WI. They made their home in Appleton, WI where he worked as the County Concrete Foreman until 1969 when he worked for the city of Appleton until 1975 when he retired to a job related injuries. In June of 1977 they moved to Jamestown, ND where they have resided.
Surviving are his wife Shirley, Jamestown, ND, 2 two daughters and 1 son, Susan Schinke, Oshkosh, WI, Bruce (Toni) Schinke, Menasha, WI and Tamara (Herb) Buerkley, Kulm, ND, 13 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved daughter Linda, 1 brother and 1 sister.
The Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM Friday May 8, 2009 in the Christ the King Church in Jamestown, ND with Rev. Newton Trimmer, pastor officiating.
