Merlin Buchmann, 50, Jamestown, ND died Tuesday December 2, 2008 at his home in Jamestown, ND.
Merlin Buchmann was born December 6, 1957 in Bismarck, ND, the son of Milton Buchmann and Elsie (Benz) Buchmann. He received his elementary education in Baldwin, ND and attended high school in Bismarck.
He and Janell Fuka were married November 1978 in Bismarck, ND and made their home in Bismarck, where he farmed in the area. They moved to Portland, OR where he worked as a Stock Broker and Business Planner. He later returned to Jamestown, ND and worked at the James River Correctional Center.
He and Christy D'Angelo were married August 5, 2000 in Courtenay, ND and made their home in Ypsilanti, ND. In 2005 he retired due to health.
He is survived by his wife, Christy, Ypsilanti, ND; 3 children, Jessi Buchmann, Beaverton, OR; Alaina D'Angelo-Buchmann, Ypsilanti, ND; Otto Buchmann, Ypsilanti, ND; 2 brothers, Dallan (Linda) Buchmann, Baldwin, ND; Iver (Sandy) Buchmann, Grand Forks, ND; 1 sister, Sherry DePew, Lancing MI, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Roger and Kalson.
He enjoyed farming, BBQ's, being a huge Chicago Bears fan, thunderstorms and especially spending time with his children.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 6, 2008 at the Haut Funeral Chapel with Rev. Terry Anderson, officiating.
