Martha Werth Koepplin, 82, Wishek, North Dakota, died late Monday evening, February 19, 2007 at the Wishek Retirement Home. Martha was born April 26, 1924 on the family farm SW of Lehr, ND, along with her twin sister Hulda "Werth" Dais. They were among the five older daughters of John and Rosina Kessler Werth. She attended a rural school until the 8th grade, and later transferred to Sheyenne River Academy for her high school years. Martha married Theodore "Cookie" Koepplin, April 12, 1943 at Lebanon, MO, making their home in Missouri and Washington for short periods before settling in Lehr, ND to begin a life of farming. In 1993 they sold their farm and moved to Wishek. Theodore Koepplin preceded in death his lovely wife, Martha, on December 15, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, four brothers as well as a grandson, Derrik Kaisershot. They are survived by their daughters, Sandie (Thomas L.) Taylor, Woodbridge, VA, Patty (Randy) Bollinger, Lincoln, NE, Nancy Michlitsch, Alpharetta, GA, Gale Koepplin, Sioux Falls, SD. There are also two grandsons Thomas Preston Taylor and Zachary Michlitsch as well as Cookies brother "Uncle Bill," who true to his word continued to look after Martha until her passing.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00 AM Friday February 23, 2007 in the Lehr Seventh-day Adventist Church in Lehr, ND, with Pastor Larry Priest, officiating.
Interment will be made in the Lehr City Cemetery, Lehr, ND.
