Marie M. Reich

Marie M. Reich, 95, Jamestown, ND died Sunday morning November 30, 2008 at the Jamestown Hospital in Jamestown, ND.

Marie M. Ruff was born March 14, 1913, in Kidder County, the daughter of Fred Ruff and Margaret (Enzminger) Ruff. She grew up on the family farm SW of Streeter, ND and received her elementary education in rural schools in the area.

She and Jacob Reich were married September 3, 1936 at Medina, ND. They farmed south of Medina until 1949 when they moved to Cleveland, ND. They moved into Jamestown in 1969. Marie worked as a cook at Hi-Acres Manor and Jamestown College. Following the death of her husband December 9, 1985 she continued to reside in Jamestown.

She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Jamestown.

She is survived by 1 daughter, Naomi Swenningson, Bismarck, ND; 1 son, Elmer (Linda) Reich, Grant Pass, OR; 1 daughter-in-law Carol Reich, Jamestown, ND; 2 step-children, Vernon (Norma) Reich, Jamestown, ND; Adeline (James) Buchanan, McAllen, TX; 16 grand children, 29 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, Walter (Lorraine) Ruff, Colorado Springs, CO; Verner (Faye) Ruff, Grand Rapids, MN; Harry (Inez) Ruff, Streeter, ND; 3 sisters, Leah (Harry) Wolff, Streeter, ND; Ida Enzminger and Esther Simonson, both of Jamestown, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son, Harley; 2 step-daughters, Inez Krause, Lorraine Gross; 2 brothers, Anton, Edwin and 2 sisters, Lydia Enzminger and Naomi Cole.

The funeral service will be at 1:30 PM Saturday December 6, 2008 in the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Jamestown, ND with Rev. Susan Lester, pastor officiating.

The interment will be made in the Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND.
