Marie Meidinger, 91, Gackle, ND died Saturday morning July 14, 2007 at the Golden Acre Manor in Carrington, ND.

Marie A. Dorr was born August 7, 1915 at the family farm home SW of Streeter, ND, the daughter of Jacob Dorr and Christina (Kranzler) Dorr. She attended the local rural school where she received her elementary education and grew to womanhood in the vicinity.

She and Theodore ‘Ted' Meidinger were married June 26, 1937 at Billings, MT. They made their home east of Gackle where they farmed until 1941 when they moved to Hardin, MT. In 1956 they moved to Worland, WY and later to Manderson, WY where they worked in the Beet Fields. In 1958 they moved to Jamestown for 3 years and in 1961 they moved to Marion, ND where they did custodian work at the school. In 1964 they returned to Jamestown where she did housekeeping work at various places around Jamestown. In 1982 they moved to Gackle where they lived until 1993 when they moved back to Jamestown. Following the death of her husband December 21, 1996, she continued to reside in Jamestown until entering the Gackle Care Center in 2003 later moving to the Golden Acre Manor in Carrington in 20071.

She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Gackle, serving as deaconess, Sunday School teacher, a member of the Gleaners, and also the Salvation Army in Jamestown.

She is survived by her children, Donnie (Judy) Meidinger, Bismarck, ND, Darlene (Ervin) Zimmer, Carrington, ND, Marlys Klundt, Gackle, ND, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 1 brother, Ray Dorr, Worland, WY.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 son in infancy, 1 son-in-law, and 2 sisters.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday July 18, 2007 in the Grace Baptist Church at Gackle, ND with Pastor Tim Blackman, officiating.

The interment will be made in the Gackle Cemetery, Gackle, ND.
Visitation - 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. Tuesday @ the funeral home
