Magdalena Schwecke, 88, Streeter, ND died Friday September 27, 2013 at the Evergreen Assisted Living Center in Fargo, ND.
Maggie was born October 13, 1924 at Lehr, ND, the daughter of John Kauk and Magdalena (Becker) Kauk. She attended the local rural school where she received her elementary education and grew to womanhood in the vicinity.
She and Archie Schwecke were married November 26, 1946 at Lehr, ND. They made their home on a farm 7 miles NW of Streeter. Following the death of her husband on May 20, 1998, she continued to reside on the farm until moving to Fargo in November of 2006. In June of 2007 she entered Evergreen Assisted Living in Fargo.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women in Streeter.
She is survived by her daughter, Violet (Mickey) Walker, Audubon, MN and Sun City, AZ; 2 grandchildren, Cory (Sara) Klostriech, Moorhead, MN; Shannon (Terry) Klostriech, Otis, CO; 3 great granddaughters, Cassidy Klostriech, Skyler Klostriech and Courtney Klostriech; 1 sister, Mildred Wanner, Wishek, ND; 2 brothers, Albert Kauk, Streeter, ND, and Lawrence Kauk, Fremont, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son, Ralph, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Funeral Service - 1:00 P.M. Wednesday October 2, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Streeter, ND, with Pastor Hazel Behrens, officiating.
Burial - Streeter Cemetery, Streeter, ND
The family requests memorials to be made to Hospice of the Red River Valley in Fargo and to the Alzheimer's Association.
