Lydia Kleinknecht, 93, Bismarck, ND died Friday May 8, 2009 at the Baptist Home in Bismarck, ND.

Lydia Hust was born January 7, 1916 at the family farm home near Streeter, ND, the daughter of Henry and Katherina (Enzminger) Hust. She attended the local rural school where she received her elementary education and grew to womanhood in the vicinity.

She and Emanuel Kleinknecht were married September 29, 1939 at Gackle, ND. They made their home on his parent's farm 2 miles south of Gackle until 1942 when they moved to their own farm 15 miles NW of Gackle. In 1961 they sold the farm and moved into Jamestown. Following the death of her husband August 8, 1983 she continued to reside in Jamestown until 1994 when she moved to Bismarck. In 2001 she entered the Baptist Home at Bismarck.

She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Jamestown, and enjoyed gardening and cooking.

She is survived by her children, Evangeline (Everrett) Aljoe, Maple Valley, WA; Virginia (Steven) McCallum, Bismarck, ND; Virgil (Joann) Kleinknecht, Bismarck, ND; 7 grandchildren, Evan (Missy) Aljoe, Evonne (Mike) Maccarone, Carina McCallum, Angela (Charles) Baker, Cari (Casey) Thompson, Kelly Kleinknecht and Terrica Kleinknecht; and 6 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 son, Elroy, 1 great granddaughter, 6 brothers and 6 sisters

The funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday May 13, 2009 at the Temple Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Jaspers, officiating.

The burial will be made in the Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND

Visitation- 9:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday @ the funeral home

Prayer service - 7:00 P.M. Tuesday @ the funeral home
