Lydia Enzminger, 90, Jamestown, ND died Friday June 9, 2006 at Central Dakota Village in Jamestown, ND.

Lydia Ruff was born July 8, 1915 at the family farm home SW of Streeter, ND, the daughter of Fred Ruff and Margaretha (Enzminger) Ruff. She attended the local rural school where she received her elementary education and grew to womanhood in the vicinity.

She and Edwin Enzminger were married September 9, 1934 at the Freidens E.U.B. Church west of Streeter, ND. They made their home on a farm 5 miles SW of Streeter until 1942, when they moved to a farm 10 miles SE of Medina. In 1952 they moved into Tappen, where he operated a trucking business.She took care of elderly people in her home. Following the death of her husband November 23, 1981, she continued to reside in Tappen and worked at the Tappen Public School in the Green Thumb Program until retiring in 1992. She move to Jamestown in 1993 and entered the Rock of Ages in 1999. In 2001 she entered the Central Dakota Village.

She was a member of the St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Jamestown, was very involved with her church and missions. She was very loving to her family and grandchildren. She also loved doing yardwork, gardening, and her flowers.

She is survived by her children, Ramona (Gene) Mayer, Streeter, ND,Verna (Ervin) Pfaff, Tappen, ND, Evangeline (Clarence) Mittleider, Mesa, AZ. Lawrence (Marlys) Enzminger, Tappen, ND, Marlys (Billie) Schmidt, Boise, ID, Donald Enzminger, Paradise Valley, AZ, Donna (Terry) Hilmoe, Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, 30 grandchildren, 71 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, 13 step grandchildren, several step great grandchildren, 3 brothers, Vernon (Faye) Ruff, Park Rapids, MN, Walter (Lorraine) Ruff, Colorado Springs, CO, Harry (Inez) Ruff, Streeter, ND, 4 sisters, Marie Reich, Jamestown, ND, Ida Enzminger, Jamestown, ND, Leah (Harry) Wolff, Streeter, ND, Esther Simonson, Jamestown, ND, 1 step brother, Andy Wiedmeier, Valley City, ND, and 1 daughter-in-law, Betty (Darold) Lang, Steele, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 son, Melvin, 2 grandsons, 1 infant granddaughter, 2 brothers, 1 sister, 2 step brothers, and 4 step sisters.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday June 14, 2006 at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Jamestown, ND, with Pastor Gary Ball-Kilbourne, officiating.

The interment will be made in the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Jamestown, ND.

Visitation - 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. Monday & 9:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M. Tuesday
