Leona Schauer, 79, Wishek, North Dakota died Thursday September 27, 2007 in the Wishek Community Hospital in Wishek, ND

Leona Knoll was born April 22, 1928 at North of Lehr ND, the daughter of Peter P. Knoll and Rosa (Schaffer) Knoll. She received her elementary in the local rural school and grew to womanhood in the vicinity where she helped on the family farm 11 miles North of Lehr, ND.

She and Walter Schauer were married December 5, 1948 at Lehr, ND. In 1951 they purchase a farm nine miles North and one mile West of Lehr. They farmed until August of 1972 when they moved into Wishek. Following the death of her husband May 13, 2004 she has continued to reside in Wishek. She entered the Wishek Home for the Aged 2006.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Wishek, ND.

Surviving are her children, Carol (Harry) Motz, Jamestown, ND, Stanley Schauer, Conway Springs, KS, Cynthia (Keith) Ames, Brooklyn Center, MN, Nancy (John) Pahl, Edgeley, ND, Donna (Kenneth) Sayler, Cleveland, TX, Noreen (Tim) Scholl, Rapid City, SD, Jeffrey Schauer, Houston, TX, Barry Schauer, Columbia Heights, MN, Melanie Schauer, New Rockford, ND, Sherry Kappes, Cozad, NE, 15 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 grandchildren, and one brother, Vernon.

The funeral will be at 10:30 AM Monday October 1, 2007 at the United Church of Christ in Wishek, ND with Pastor Tammy Toepke-Floyd and Rev. Clayton Schaeffer, officiating.

The interment will be at the Wishek City Cemetery in Wishek, ND.

Visitation: 1-8 Sunday at the Funeral Home and 1 hour before services on Monday at the Church.

Family Prayer Service: 7:00 PM Sunday at the Haut Funeral Chapel.
