Leola I. Honstead

Leola I. Honstead, 90, Bismarck, ND passed away Thursday morning October 19, 2006 at the St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, ND.

Leola Robertson was born September 18, 1916 at Rock Creek, KS the daughter of Ralph Robertson and Beulah (Carpenter) Robertson.
Leola graduated from the Christ Hospital School of Nursing at Topeka, KS in 1941.

She and Herndon P. Honstead were married in August of 1942 at Sacramento, CA. They made their home in Kansas, Illinois, Virginia Wisconsin, South Dakota and North Dakota. She was a Registered Nurse that worked for the Red Cross and the Sunny Hill Nursing Home in Madison, WI. Herndon passed away in 1969.

She was very active in Church activities, Girls Scouts and the Red Cross.

Surviving are her children, John (Sherry) Honstead, Ft. Collins, CO, Barbara (Steve) Obenauer, Bismarck, ND, 4 grandchildren, Lynn Larson, Huron, SD, Marci Honstead, Bryce Honstead, both of San Diego, CA and Chad Obenauer, Fargo, ND, 3 sisters, Jane (Johnny) Roller, Baldwin City, KS, Dorothy Smith, Lenexa, KS and Cleta Robertson in Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 brothers and 5 sisters.

There will be a Memorial Service at 10:00 AM Wednesday October 25, 2006 at the Methodist Church in Waterville, KS.
Interment will take place in the Riverside Cemetery at Waterville.
