Laura Lautt, 80, Wishek, ND died Saturday evening October 21, 2006 in the Wishek Community Hospital in Wishek, ND.

Laura Annetta Janke was born April 17, 1926 in Logan County near Gackle ND, the daughter of Jacob Janke and Christina (Lippert) Janke. She received her elementary education in the local rural school and grew to womanhood in the vicinity where she helped on the family farm.

She and Ted Lautt were married June 9, 1944 at the courthouse in Napoleon, ND. They made their home and farmed northeast of Lehr, ND until 1958 when they moved into Lehr. Laura had been employed by the Wishek Hospital and Lehr School as a cook. She also had been employed for many years at Johnson's Café. She also operated Laura's Cream Station in Lehr until her retirement. Following her retirement they continued to reside in Lehr. Ted passed away December 18, 1996. She continued to reside in Lehr until she moved to Wishek.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lehr, ND.

Surviving are her son, Marlo (Marsha) Lautt, Moorhead, MN; 3 grandchildren, Chad, Ryan, Todd Lautt, and Step-grandson, Ryan Schweigert; 2 brothers, Cliff (Jean) Janke, Lehr, ND; Ervin (Alice) Janke, Bismarck, ND; 2 sisters, Agnes (Eldon) Dallman, Lehr, ND; Shirley (James) Brandner, Bismarck, ND, and Sister-in-law Arlis Janke, Lead, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 daughter Mary, 4 brothers, Leroy, Alvin and 2 infant brothers.

The funeral service will be at 1:30 PM Thursday October 26, 2006 in the United Methodist Church in Lehr, ND with Rev.s Grant Piehl and Marty Toepke-Floyd officiating.

Interment will be made in the Lehr City Cemetery, Lehr, ND
