Joyce Henne, 81, Jamestown, ND died Thursday morning October 22, 2009 at the Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City, ND.
Joyce Nitschke was born February 24, 1928 at the family farm home near Alfred, ND, the daughter of Otto Nitschke and Emma (Klundt) Nitschke. She attended Alfred Public School where she received her elementary education and grew to womanhood in the vicinity.
She and Clarence Henne were married in 1947 at Alfred, ND. They made their home 3 miles east of Alfred where they farmed. In 1973 they moved to Gackle where they continued to reside until 1997. She moved to Jamestown and lived there until entering the Sheyenne Care Center in 2007.
She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Gackle, the First Baptist Church in Jamestown and the American Legion Auxiliary in Alfred.
She is survived by 2 daughters and 5 sons, LaVerne Henne, Valley City, ND; Arnold (Dee) Henne, Batavia, IL; Lester (Bobbie) Henne, Glendive, MT; DuWayne Henne, Jamestown, ND; Sandy (Frank) Kaufman, Rapid City, SD; Hubert Henne, Wapheton, ND; Randy (Angie) Henne, Montpelier, ND; 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 20 step great grandchildren, 3 brothers, Larry (Shirley) Nitschke, Emmett (VerDella) Nitschke, all of Jamestown, ND; Jerry (Connie) Nitschke, Wamego, KS; 4 sisters, Darlene (Norbert) Schlenker, Winston, OR; Carol Joslin, Antlers, OK; Karen (Lee) Sears, Davenport, IA, and Jeannine Nitschke, Jamestown, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Dwight, Kenneth, and Milton and 1 sister, Jermaine.
The funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. Monday October 26, 2009 in the Grace Baptist Church in Gackle, ND with Rev. Tim Blackman, officiating.
The burial will be made in the Alfred Cemetery at Alfred, ND.
