JoAnne Sullivan 83 of Jamestown passed away Sunday evening June 4, 2017 under hospice care at Eventide Nursing Home.
JoAnne McIlonie was born December 1, 1933 to Albert and Cora (Rickford) McIlonie. She attended and graduated from Pingree High School. She loved riding horses during this period of her life and was often given charge of hard to handle horses. Soon after graduating she worked as a telephone operator during this time, and later married Arnold Reule and together they farmed west of Edmunds, ND. They moved to Carrington around 1961 and divorced after having three sons.
She moved to Jamestown afterward and met Maurice Sullivan. They married and raised the youngest boy. She worked in the retail business for Glickson’s about this time. She also worked in the health care field for 25 years later after “Sully’s” passing. She enjoyed needlepoint, Soduku, and puzzles. She loved to dance and was known for her sharp mind and excellent home cooked meals, especially during the holidays.
She is survived by her three sons. Jerome of Jamestown, Steve of Fargo, and Troy of Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, both ex husbands, and her beloved cat Cheetah.
In accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation. There will be a small graveside service at a later date.
