Iva Mayhew, 76, Jamestown, ND died Monday October 11, 2010 at the Ave Maria Village in Jamestown, ND.
Iva McEachern was born June 2, 1934, at Plentywood, MT, the daughter of Murdock and Annie (Scott) McEachern. She attended local school in Medicine Lake, MT.
She and Curtiss Mayhew were married, September 20, 1950 at Wibaux, MT. They then moved to Steele, ND in 1968 and to Medina, ND in 1972. They then made the move to Jamestown, ND in 1982.
Iva was proud to have worked for the Cleveland Indians Baseball Park with many VIP's and team players. Iva served for a short time as a Deputy Sherriff in Steele. She also worked at the North Dakota State Hospital for 24 years. After the death of her husband in 1994, she continued to reside in Jamestown. After her retirement, Iva worked part time at the Crisis Center. Iva became a resident of Roseadele until her illness; where she spent her final days at the Ave Maria Village.
She loved hunting and fishing with Curtiss. She loved being around her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by 2 sons, Curtiss (Linda) Mayhew, Minot, ND; Roger Mayhew, Jamestown, ND; 4 daughters, Laurie (Lyle) Jablonski, Medina, ND; Peggy (Charles) Webster, Bismarck, ND; Myra (Torrey) Briese, Tappen, ND; Kristy (Karl) Werner, Dover, DE; 24 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren, and her sister, Annie (Kermit) Torgeson, Appleton, MN;
She was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, her daughter, Myrna; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
The memorial service will be at 10:30 AM Friday October 15, 2010 at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, ND with Pastor Bryce Tahran, officiating.
The interment will be at the Medina Cemetery in Medina, ND.
