Idella Jean Tarnasky, 81, Wishek, ND died late Friday evening April 3, 2020 at the Wishek Living Center in Wishek, ND.
Idella Tarnasky was born October 4, 1938 at Lehr, ND the daughter of Michael Tarnasky and Mathilda (Kramlich) Tarnasky. At the age of 4 she got polio which she lived with all of her life. Her mother said this is the way the Lord gave her to me and I’ll take care of her. In 1949 she moved with her family to Streeter, ND.
At the age of 51 May 10,1989 both Idella and her mom moved into Wishek nursing home. Idella and her mom were roommates and Idella was happy to be there.
The Wishek Living Center staff got her interested in coloring and she colored beautiful pictures and at that time they sold some of her pictures for $2.00. Her family bought some of her pictures and hung them in their homes. She was proud of her pictures. We all were amazed of how good she could color being she couldn’t open her hands.
When her mom passed away her brother Walter became her roommate and they were happy together. Following Walters death, she continued to reside in the Wishek Living Center and the staff became her family and they loved her. She always had a smile on her face when her brothers and sister-in-law would come to visit.
She was a member of the Methodist Church.
She is survived by one brother, Ruben Tarnasky, Fargo, ND; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Walter, Marvin, Elmer and her sister Esther.
Memorial service will be held at a later date.
Burial will take place in the Streeter City Cemetery, Streeter, ND
