Ida Ratts, 87, Jamestown, ND died Sunday morning September 4, 2005 at the Central Dakota Village in Jamestown, ND.
Ida Reich was born February 22, 1918 near Gackle, ND, the daughter of Adolph Reich and Margaret (Fischer) Reich. She attended the local rural school where she received her elementary education and grew to womanhood in the vicinity.
She and Rudolph Schuldheisz were married in 1938 at Hardin, MT. They returned to North Dakota and farmed near Eldridge, ND, later farming in the Sydney-Montpelier area. In 1957 they moved into Jamestown where she worked at the Jamestown Hospital as a nurse's aid. Following the death of her husband in 1971, she continued to work at the hospital until her retirement in 1979.
She and Harold Ratts were married July 28, 1979 at Montpelier. They made their home in Jamestown. She entered the Central Dakota Village in 2004.
She was a member of the Free Methodist Church, later the Atonement Lutheran Church, the Gideon Auxiliary and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening, oil painting, and dancing.
She is survived by her husband, Harold, Jamestown, ND, 5 children, Eugene (Patty) Schuldheisz, Jamestown, ND, Lester (Jean) Schuldheisz, Carrington, ND, Marlys (Ernie), Hollingsworth, Everett, WA, Sharon Lutman, and Curtis Schuldheisz, both of Jamestown, ND, 7 step children, Donald (Jean) Ratts, Montpelier, ND, Carol (Gary) Erickson, Jamestown, ND, Audrey Otto, Pottsville, AR, Robert (Terri) Ratts, Spokane, WA, Francis Ratts, Everett, WA, Gary Ratts, Slidell, LA, Jerry (Kuawana) Ratts, Newton Corners, NC, 19 grandchildren, 15 step grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren, 1 sister, Gladys Reich, Jamestown, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 1 daughter, Arlene Wenzel, 3 grandchildren, and 5 sisters.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday September 7, 2005 at the Atonement Lutheran Church in Jamestown, ND, with Pastor Steven Berntson, officiating.
The interment will be made in the Sunset Memorial Gardens at Jamestown, ND.
Arrangements are by the Haut Funeral Homes in Jamestown, ND.]
