Ida K. Enzminger, 97, died Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Eventide in Jamestown, ND.
Ida Ruff was born April 12, 1920 at the family farm home SW of Streeter, ND the daughter of Fred Ruff and Margareta (Enzminger) Ruff. She attended the local rural school where she received her elementary education and grew to womanhood in the vicinity where she helped on the family farm.
She and Leopold Enzminger were married September 17, 1939 on her parents’ farm. They made their home on a farm on the eastside of Gackle until moving to a farm southwest of Gackle. In 1948 they moved to a farm near Medina, ND and in 1952 they moved into Gackle. In 1956 they moved into Jamestown where she was a nurse’s aide at Jamestown Hospital for 18 years.
Following the death of Leo on March 20, 1991 she has continued to reside in Jamestown. She entered Eventide in Jamestown in the spring of 2014.
She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Jamestown and many circle groups; enjoyed reading, quilting, embroidering, and family gatherings.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Marlene (Daniel) Dockter, Medina, ND and Sandy (Ernie) Dumas, Alma, CO; 11 grandchildren, 28 Great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren; 1 daughter-in-law, Darlene Enzminger, Bismarck, ND and 1 son-in-law, Marvin Nitschke, Moorhead, MN; 3 brothers, Walter Ruff, Deer River, MN; Verner(Faye) Ruff, St. Cloud, MN; Harry (Inez) Ruff, Streeter, ND;
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son Elroy, 1 daughter Gladys, 1 grandson Jamie Dumas, 2 brothers, Edwin and Anton and 5 sisters, Lydia, Leah, Marie, Esther and Naomi.
