Hilma Ketterling

Hilma Ketterling, 86, formerly of Streeter, ND died Friday, December 13, 2024 at SMP Health-Ave Maria in Jamestown. 

Hilma was born December 17, 1937 near Ashley, ND the daughter of Reinhold and Anna Maria (Maessner) Ketterling. She grew up on the farm, attending the country school through the 8th grade; the family moved into Ashley and then in 1960 moved to Streeter. Hilma resided in Streeter until moving to the nursing home in 2020.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Streeter and involved with the ladies aid. She enjoyed watching TV, listening to music, and helping her sister with cooking following her mother’s passing. While at the nursing home she liked to attend the church services, playing bingo, doing crafts, visiting and singing in the choir and the daily phone calls from her sister. She especially enjoyed when her sister would come visit and have lunch with her. 

Hilma is survived by her sister, Lorraine, Streeter, ND; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family wants to thank the staff at Ave Maria for the excellent care while Hilma was there.
