Herbert Krause

Herbert Krause, 93, Jamestown, ND died Friday evening August 24, 2007 at the Central Dakota Village in Jamestown, ND.

Herbert Krause was born December 31, 1913 near Alfred, ND, in Alexander Township, the son of Jacob Krause and Elizabeth (Koenig) Krause. He attended the local rural school and grew to manhood in the vicinity where he helped on the family farm. He started farming in 1937 and he also drilled wells in the 30's and 40's.

He and Anna Wegner were married June 13, 1937 at Alfred, ND.
They made their home on several different farms north of Alfred, until moving to the Krause homestead in 1946. They retired from farming in 1967 and moved into Jamestown where he did carpenter work and worked for Bollinger Construction until his retirement.

He was a life long member of the United Church of Christ and served on various church and township boards.

Surviving are his wife, Anna, 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Lucille (Elroy) Letcher, Helena, MT, Rosella (James) Porter, Winnemucca, NV, 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Harry (Brenda) Krause, Gackle, ND, Gary (Karen) Krause, Frazee, MN, Jeffrey (Brenda) Krause, Palo, IA, 13 grandchildren,Dean Letcher,Owen Letcher, Renae Erickson, Michael Porter, Dennis Porter, Mitchel Krause, Natalie Miller, Rebecca Hepper, Jeremy Krause, Kayla Schwarzrock,Joshusa Krause, Jacob Krause,Brooklyn Krause 15 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Alma Wegner, Gackle, ND and Susie Zimmerman, Jamestown, ND

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 grandsons, Korey Krause, Wendell Letcher, 2 sisters, Matilda Janhke and Emma Schlenker, 3 brothers Ervin, Jack and Emmanuel.

Funeral Service will be at 10:30AM Tuesday August 28, 2007 in the First Congregational Church in Jamestown, ND Rev. Susan Lester, pastor officiating.

Interment will be made in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Jamestown, ND.
Visitation - 9-9 Monday at the Funeral Home
Prayer Service: 7:00 PM Monday at the Funeral Home.
