Helen Fiechtner, 100, Lehr, North Dakota died Thursday afternoon April 17, 2008 at the Ashley Medical Center in Ashley, ND.

Helen Schrenk was born February 17, 1908 on the family farm home in Ketterling Township 12 miles South of Streeter, North Dakota, the daughter of Henry Schrenk and Rosina (Goebel) Schrenk. She received her elementary education in the local rural school and grew to womanhood in the Lehr vicinity.

She and Jacob Werth were married November 11, 1928 at Lehr, ND. They made their home on a farm 6 miles South of Lehr. Following the accidental death of her husband in 1947 she moved into Lehr where she has resided. She and Carl Fiechtner were married July 7, 1950 in Lehr where they resided. Following the death of Carl in 1970 she has continued to reside in Lehr. In addition to raising a family she did domestic housework, babysitting for many children and gardening.

She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Lehr, ND, King Homemakers Club, and the Lehr Senior Citizens.

Surviving is her daughter, Darlene Kauk, Lehr, ND; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, 1 step son, Walter (Martha) Fiechtner, Bismarck, ND; 3 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great grandchildren,2 sister Lavera Youker and Eleanor Winkenwerder both of Portland,OR.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, 1 son and daughter-in-law, Darvin and Leona, 1 great grandson, Freddie, 1 son-in-law, Calvin Kauk, 2 step-sons, Eugene and Herbert and 1 brother Harold.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Wednesday April 23, 2008 in the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Lehr, North Dakota with Pastor Wilbur Mauk officiating.

The interment will be at the Lehr City Cemetery in Lehr, ND

Arrangements are with the Haut Funeral Homes in Wishek, ND

Visitation: 10:00 - 8:00 Tuesday @ the funeral home
