Helen Martha Brown, 86, Jamestown, ND died Sunday evening March 20, 2005 at the Jamestown Hospital in Jamestown, ND.
Helen Silzly was born February 22, 1919 at Jamestown, ND the daughter of Henry Silzly and Matilda (Sailer) Silzly. She received her elementary education in Franklin School,attended the Jamestown High School and grew to womanhood in the vicinity. She attended art school in Minneapolis, MN for 1 year. She then attended Jamestown Business College and went to work at Preds Clothing in Jamestown as an artist drawing ads. In 1942 she moved to Napoleon where she worked as a Court Secretary until 1944.
She and Clifford Brown were married December 23, 1944 at Jamestown, ND. They made their home in Jamestown where she worked at the Gladstone Hotel until 1969. She then went to work for the Jamestown Hospital as a Dietary Aide until 1986 when she retired. She continued to reside in Jamestown.
She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Jamestown, ND
Helen was a good artist and many of her works are on display around Jamestown.
Surviving are her children, Douglas R. Brown, Fallon, NV, Dorothy L. Brown, Johnson, Vermont, 5 grandchildren, 1 sister, Pearlette Silzly, Jamestown, ND.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, May 13, 1974 and 3 brothers.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M. Friday March 25, 2005 at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Jamestown, ND with Pastor Dave Stuart, officiating.
The interment will be made in the Highland Home Cemetery in Jamestown, ND.
