Harry Ehmann, 87, Gackle, ND died Friday May 2, 2008 at the Ava Maria Village (Central Dakota) in Jamestown, ND.
Harry Ehmann was born October 30, 1920 at the family farm home near Alfred, ND, the son of Daniel and Christina (Bauman) Ehmann. He attended the Alfred Public School until 1934 when the family moved to Jud where he finished school. He entered the C.C.C. from 1936 - 1939 and returned home.
He and Emma Kalmbach were married November 3, 1941 at LaMoure, ND. They made their home on the farm in Raney Township, west of Jud, ND until 1995 when they moved to Gackle.
He was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Gackle, served on the Jud School Board, Jud Farmers Union Elevator and Oil Company, board member of the LaMoure County Weed Board, and always enjoyed sports and was active in baseball. He played with the Alfred, Jud and Swede ball clubs and also managed the Jud and Alfred teams.
He is survived by his wife, Emma, Gackle, ND, one son, Darcy D. (Mary) Ehmann, Omaha, NE, one daughter Marleen (Vaughn) Bussma, Dammeron Valley, UT, one granddaughter, Cassandra Bussma, Phoenix, AZ.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three infant sons, granddaughter, Laura, five brothers and three sisters.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Thursday May 8, 2008 in the First United Church of Christ in Gackle, ND, with Rev. Tim Blackman, officiating.
The interment will be made in the Alfred Cemetery at Alfred, ND.
Visitation - 9-9 Wednesday at the Funeral home and 1 hour before services at the Church.
