Glenn Otto, Sr. 67, Medina, ND died Saturday May 6, 2006 at the St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, ND.

Glenn Otto was born November 7, 1938 at Robinson, ND, the son of Henry and Odelia (Rosenbome) Otto. He attended the Robinson Public School and graduated from Robinson High School in 1956.

He entered the United State National Guard February 17, 1955 until February 16, 1961. He re-entered December 12, 1975 and served for 141st Engineer Combat Battlion where he was a combat engineer having served in the Honduras and Panama. He was awarded Army Commendation, Army Service Ribbon, Army Reserve Achievement Medal, Marksmanship Medal and Sales Training and Management. He also was a recruiter for 2 years until retiring and discharged December 11, 1990 with the rank of Sergeant First Class.

He and Donna Mae Flatlie were married June 23, 1957 at Jamestown, ND. They made their home in Jamestown where he worked at various tire shops including Franz Tire, Hanson Tire, Speeding Tire, and Interstate Tire. He later did construction work and in 1992 went to work for Newman Sign until his retirement.

He was a member of the Zion Church of Christ in Medina, and a member of the Eagles Club in Jamestown and the Am Vets.

He is survived by his wife, Donna, Medina, ND, 4 children, Glenn (Cathy) Otto Jr., Jamestown, ND, Susan (Scott) Dickman, Shepherdsville, KY, Kim (Russell) Kleingartner, Jamestown, ND, Donovan (Joni) Otto, Medina, ND, 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Esther Huluska, Chasley, ND, and Violet Guthmiller, Jamestown, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, and 3 brothers.


The funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday May 12, 2006 in the First United Church of Christ in Jamestown, ND, with Rev. Karl Limvere, officiating.

The interment will be made in the Medina Cemetery, Medina, ND.

Visitation - 9:00 - 5:00 Wednesday & 9:00 - 8:00 Thursday @ the funeral home
