Gerhart Dewald, 76, Streeter, ND, died Monday March 12, 2007 at the Napoleon Care Center in Napoleon, ND.

Gerhart Dewald was born February 12, 1931 at Streeter, ND the son of John Dewald and Lydia (Kirschenmann) Dewald. He attended rural school where he received his elementary education and graduated from the Streeter High School in 1949. He later attended Valley City State College. He worked at the Streeter State Bank as a bank officer.
He and Marie Zentner were married June 19, 1959 at Gackle, ND. They made their home in Streeter where he continued to work at the Streeter Bank until he retired in 1999 and they continued to reside in Streeter. He entered the Napoleon Care Center 2005.

He is a member of the Hope United Church of Christ in Streeter, ND, Streeter Lions having served as treasurer, Streeter Wildlife Club, Streeter Fire Dept. He also was a member of the Jamestown Elks and Eagles Club. He served as past Deputy District Governor of 5 NE Lions International, Lions Zone Chairman, president and secretary. He served on BAI Bank Board and was Streeter City Auditor for 19 years.

Surviving are his wife Marie, Napoleon, ND, one son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Sandra Dewald, Streeter, ND, one grandson Michael (Jody) Dewald, Fargo, ND, one great grandson, Parker, 2 brothers and 2 sisters, Alvin Dewald, Streeter, ND, Helmuth Dewald, Bismarck, ND, Jean Morrison, Edina, MN and Betty (Ron) Bauer, Renton, WA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Harry, John, Elton and an infant sister Eileen

The funeral service will be at 1:30 P.M. Friday March 16, 2007 in the Hope United Church of Christ in Streeter, ND with Rev. Chris Hogstad, officiating.
The interment will be made in the spring at the Streeter City Cemetery near Streeter, ND.
Visitation - 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. Thursday @ the funeral home in Gackle
