Olaf "Gene" Holman, 78 Jamestown, ND died Tuesday May 23, 2006 at the Central Dakota Village in Jamestown, ND.

Gene Holman was born September 20, 1927 at Fredonia, ND, the son of Olaf Holman and Adeline (Grosz) Holman. He attended the local rural school where he received his elementary education. He helped on the family farm and grew to manhood in the vicinity.

He entered the Army of the United States March 22, 1946. He served as a Medical Technician at Brooke Army Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, TX. He was separated September 21, 1947 with the rank of PFC.

He then returned home to Fredonia and farmed on the family farm. He also worked part time at the Fredonia Bar and worked part time for Art Schlenz. In 1992 he retired and in 2000 he entered the Gackle Care Center in Gackle, ND. In March of 2006 he entered Central Dakota Village in Jamestown and has resided there.

He was a member of the Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Fredonia, ND and also a life member of the American Legion #260.

He is survived by his 3 brothers, Morris Holman, Jamestown, ND; Arthur Holman, St. Louis Park, MN; Kenneth Holman, Aurora, CO, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday May 30, 2006 at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Fredonia, ND with Rev. JoAnne Moeller, officiating.

The interment will be at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery at Kulm, ND.

Arrangements are with the Haut Funeral Homes in Gackle.

Visitation: 1:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. Monday @ the funeral home
