Frieda Rivinius, 94, Gackle, ND died December 25, 2010 in St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, ND.

Frieda Rivinius was born September 29, 1916 on the family farm 3 miles ND of Gackle, ND, the daughter of John Rivinius and Pauline (Remboldt) Rivinius. She received her elementary education in the Gackle Public School and Fort Worth, TX Bible School. During the fall of 1938, she moved to Bismarck, ND. Frieda was a parts maker during World War II at the Naval Ordinance Plant in Macon, GA. When Frieda's step-mother, Elizabeth (Remboldt) Rivinius, passed away, she moved to Gackle and worked for her sister Bertha Hehn. In 1946 she began working for the grocery store at Gackle. In 1948 she moved to Mandan and worked for five years at Lee Mahr's Photography Studio. She also worked at Morrey Allen's clothing store and Buttery's Women's Wear at Bismarck, ND. In June of 1955 she began working for Sears in Bismarck where she was employed for more than 23 years. In November of 1981 she moved to Gackle for her retirement. She later cared for her sister Bertha. In 2006 she entered the Gackle Care Center, later moving into Hi-Acres Manor in 2009. She moved to Bismarck in June of 2010 when she entered the Good Samaritan Home.

She is a member of the Grace Baptist Church, and served as church secretary, treasurer, the Gackle Senior Citizens, served as club president, secretary, and treasurer, an auxiliary member of the Gackle American Legion.

She is survived by many nieces and nephews, and a special great niece, Jessica, who thought of Frieda as a grandma. She was the last member of her immediate family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, Conrad, Reuben, Lenhardt, 6 sisters, Rose, Bertha, Katie, Lydia, Tillie and Ida.

The funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday December 30, 2010 in the Grace Baptist Church in Gackle, ND with Rev. Tim Blackman, pastor officiating.

Visitation - 9-7 Wednesday at the Funeral Home.

Interment will be made in the Gackle City Cemetery, Gackle, ND (Spring)
