Frieda Ehley

Frieda Ehley, 94, of Ashley, ND died at the Ashley Nursing Home on Wednesday June 28, 2006 in Ashley, ND.
Emma Frederika (Frieda) Babitzke was born December 23, 1911, to Martin Babitzke and Susanna (Schlabs) Babitzke on a farm northeast of Ashley. This is where she was raised and attended Country School and also attended the Ashley Public School.
She was united in marriage to Henry Ehley Jr. at the Emmaus Lutheran Church northeast of Ashley on November 2, 1930.
The Ehleys farmed until 1948 when they purchased a home and moved into Ashley where they retired. During their marriage they also resided at West Fargo, ND and at Lodi, CA for short periods. Her husband died March 20, 1977. After his passing, Frieda continued to reside in Ashley, spending the winter months with her son Myron and daughter-In-Law Clara until June 1988 when they moved into her home to care for her. Frieda enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting and crocheting until her eyesight started failing. She liked gardening and flowers and loved to travel to visit family as long as she was able to do so. She entered the Ashley Nursing Home on November 4, 2005.
Survivors include her 2 sons, Myron (Clara) Ehley, Ashley, ND; Kenneth (Lauraine) Ehley, Fergus Falls, MN; 3 grandchildren, Susan, Ronald and John; 4 great grandchildren, Brianna and Blake Ehley and Sierra and Jasmine Acord.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and all of her sisters and brothers, Hulda, Mary, Enoch, Emil, Fred, Bill and Ted.
The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Monday July 3, 2006 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Ashley, ND with Rev. Jeffrey C. Giles, officiating pastor.
Interment will be at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Ashley, ND.
