Fred Schmierer

Fred Schmierer, 100, Jamestown, ND died November 9, 2006 at Hi-Acres Manor in Jamestown, ND.

Fred Schmierer was born October 31, 1906, on the family farm NE of Gackle, ND, the son of John Schmierer and Elizabeth (Eberharth) Schmierer. He received his education in a rural school in Alexander Township and grew into manhood and helped on the family farm.

On February 28, 1935, he married Hulda Sommerfeld. They moved to a farm North of Gackle. In the fall of 1944 they moved to a farm four miles north of Gackle. They retired from farming in 1971 and moved to Gackle, ND, and in 1985 they moved to Jamestown, ND. In January of 2004 he became a resident of Hi-Acres Manor in Jamestown, ND. Hulda passed away September 11, 2006.

He was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

He is survived by his daughter Janice (Clyde) Landry of Alta Loma, CA; Three grandchildren, Jody Landry McAtee, John Landry, and Joanna Landry, two great grandsons all living in CA, and a special nephew, Dale Harr and his wife Cora, Jamestown, ND, one sister-in-law, Frieda Schmierer, Gackle, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Hulda, 3 brothers and 2 sisters

The funeral service will be at 10:30 AM in the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown, ND with Rev. David Stuart, officiating.

The interment will be at Gackle Cemetery in Gackle, ND
