Frances Dockter

Frances Dockter, 82, Streeter, ND died October 20, 2011 at the Wishek Care Center in Wishek, ND.

Frances Schaffer was born May 23, 1929 near Long Lake, SD, the daughter of August and Martha (Zelmer) Schaffer. She attended the local rural school where she received her elementary education and grew to womanhood in the area.

She and Arthur M. Dockter were married April 6, 1955 at Aberdeen, SD. They made their home on a farm 7 miles NW of Streeter until moving to Streeter in 1963. She stayed busy working as a Green Thumb employee for the Streeter School and the City of Streeter. Following the death of her husband, February 28, 1995, she continued to reside in Streeter where she took care of her yard and garden. She entered the Wishek Care Center in October of 2011.

She was a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church in Streeter and the Streeter Senior Citizens Club.

She is survived by her son, David L. Dockter, Streeter, ND; 1 grandson, David Michael, Streeter, ND: 2 brothers Leonard Schaffer and Milbert Schaffer, both of Aberdeen, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 4 sisters.

The funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. Monday October 24, 2011 in the Haut Funeral Chapel, Jamestown, ND, with Pastor Zach Bey, officiating.

The interment will be made in the Lutheran Cemetery at Streeter, ND.
