Florence Youngquist, 80, Jamestown, ND died January 11, 2011 at Eventide at Hi-Acres in Jamestown, ND.
Florence Carlson was born July 5, 1930 at Deerwood, MN, the daughter of Oscar "Carl" Carlson and Esther Marie (Carlin) Carlson. She received her education at the Deerwood country school and went on to Nursing School at NDSU.
She and Gaywood Youngquist were married August 19, 1951 at Deerwood on her family farm. They made their home in Minnetonka, MN where she worked at General Motors from 1951 until 1967. They moved to San Bernardino, CA where she was a homemaker. In 1974 she moved to Hemet, CA where she owned and operated the restaurant Crocketts from 1974 to 1976. In 1977 she moved to Oakes, ND and worked at the Oakes Hospital until 1981. She went to Fargo, ND to finish her CNA Degree and work at the Elim Care Center and the Centennial Care Center in Fargo until 2001. Gaywood passed away in 2003. She then moved to Jamestown to be closer to her son and in December of 2008 she entered Hi-Acres Manor.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Shelly (Ron) Collins, Phoenix, AZ;Nancy Youngquist, Garden Grove, CA; 1 son, Larry (Brenda) Youngquist, Jamestown, ND; 3 grandchildren, Tiffany Youngquist, Derek Youngquist and Scott Collins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 brother, Ronald and 2 sisters, Ruth and Dorothy.
