Florence Schuldheisz, 76, Jamestown, ND, died Wednesday afternoon April 10, 2013 in Eventide at Hi-Acres Manor in Jamestown, ND.

Florence Elhard was born August 7, 1936 at Jud, ND, the daughter of Henry Elhard and OLinda (Kalmbach) Elhard. She grew up and graduated from Jud High School in 1954.

She and Duane Schuldheisz were married December 24, 1958 at Aberdeen, SD. They made their home in Lisbon, ND before moving to Jamestown where they raised 3 daughters. She worked at the North Dakota State Hospital in 1959 and later for Western Gear from 1971 - 1986 as an assembler. She and Duane owned a cabin at Spiritwood Lake, ND. They spent their summers at Spiritwood Lake and winters in Yuma, AZ. Following his death in 1991, Florence lived at Spiritwood Lake until moving to Yuma full-time. After a cancer diagnosis in February, she transferred from Yuma Regional Medical Center to Sanford Health Roger Maris Cancer Center in Fargo, ND. She entered Eventide in March and enjoyed the company of family and friends. She and her family are forever grateful to Jamestown Regional Medical Center's Hospice program, the cancer team in Yuma as well as all her Yuma "family," friends and neighbors

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Jamestown. She served as the secretary/treasurer for Fire Response at Fortune de Oro in Yuma for 10 years.

She enjoyed watching softball and going fishing, especially at Spiritwood Lake and in Canada. She also enjoyed poker, Pinochle, bowling, golfing, "Jeopardy" and reading The Jamestown Sun. She cross stitched, played bingo and attended water aerobics classes. Florence travelled to China and Mexico, and went on several cruises.

She is survived by her daughters, Denise (Dick) Skeldum, Anthem, AZ; Dennette (Dick) Christensen, Jamestown; Michelle (Paul) Baker, Moorhead, MN; 4 grandsons, Levi (Katie Ryan-Anderson) Anderson; Marion, ND; Shaun Skeldum, Northglenn, CO; Ryan Baker and Adam Baker, both of Moorhead; 2 great-grandsons, Cole Anderson and Connor Anderson; 3 sisters: Jane Babb, Jamestown; Delores (Robert) Shepard, Shelton, WA; Linda (Marlo) Quam, Tolna, ND; and 2 brothers: Gary (Carol) Elhard, Mandan, ND; Duane "Dewey" (Maryanne) Elhard, Jud.

Two sisters preceded her in death: Mavis Presser and Yvonne Mayer.

Memorial Service - 1:30 p.m. Monday April 15, 2013 at the Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown with Pastor Bryce Tahran, officiating.

Interment - Sunset Memorial Gardens in Jamestown (in the spring).

Prayer Service: 7 p.m. Sunday, April 12, 2013 at Haut Funeral Chapel in Jamestown.
