Florence G. Cebula, 81, Jamestown, ND, died Friday, December 4, 2009 at Hi-Acres Manor Nursing Center, Jamestown, ND.

Florence G. Steckler was born January 25, 1928, to Julius and Amelia (Held) Steckler at their home in Taylor, North Dakota. She was the second oldest daughter and one of fourteen children. She attended Corinne Township School in near Courtenay, ND, where she graduated. She was married February 26, 1946 at The Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fried, N.D. to Joseph S. Cebula. In 1946 she and Joseph moved to Jamestown, ND where they started their family. Florence was a stay at home mother and housewife. Following the death of her husband in 1980 she continued to reside in Jamestown.

She was also a member of the Basilica of Saint James and St. James's Tabernacle Society. Florence loved to embroider, walk, raise African Violets and care for her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her favorite time of year was spring, when she could begin her gardening.

She is survived by three sons, Stanley (Patty) Cebula, Jamestown, ND; Steven (Polly) Cebula, Rugby, ND; Samuel (Nancy) Cebula, Kenosha, WI; five daughters, Shirley Hutchins Melbourne, FL; Sharon (Rich) Ackerman, Wimbledon, ND, Susan (Rick) Gums Jamestown, Sandra (Drexel) Young, Jamestown, ND and Stacy (Corey) Kracht, Gwinner, ND; three brothers, Ed (Evelyn) Steckler, Jamestown, Ken Steckler, Salem, OR, Larry Steckler, Auburn, WA; five sisters, Caroline (Jim) Askins, Apple Valley, CA; Frances (Melvin) Hennings, Texas, Marie (Tom) Shipp, Plymouth, MI, Lucy Steckler, CA; Janice (Don) Anderson, Coon Rapids, MN; twenty grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and a special friend Walter Remmick.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, Clarence, Jacob, Emil, and Alvin and one sister Arlene Carter.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday December 10, 2009 at the Basilica of St. James, Jamestown, ND with Father Joe Barrett, officiating.
The interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Jamestown, ND.

Prayer Service/Rosary - 7:00 PM Wednesday at the Funeral Home
Visitation 9-8 Wednesday at the Funeral Home
