Flora Schlenker

Flora Schlenker, 92, Gackle, ND, died Sunday morning October 19, 2008 at the Merit Care Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Flora Morlock was born June 18, 1916 SW of Gackle, ND, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Moos) Morlock. She attended the local rural school where she received her elementary education and grew to womanhood in the vicinity.

She and Theodore Schlenker were married January 5, 1939 at Gackle, ND. They made their home on a farm SW of Gackle where they farmed until1973 when they moved into Gackle for their retirement. Following the death of her husband in 1992, she continued to reside in Gackle until entering the Wishek Nursing in August of 2008.

She was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Gackle, ND. She loved flowers, gardening and playing Bingo, but really enjoyed spending time with her farmily and friends.

She is survived by 1 son, Calvin (DeAnn) Schlenker, Gackle, ND, 1 daughter, Sherry (Jesse Vargas) Schlenker, Fargo, ND, 2 grandchildren, Sheldon (Tina) Schlenker, Shannon (Jackie) Schlenker, 2 great grandchildren, Tyler and Tracy Schlenker, all of Jamestown, ND, 1 brother, Walter (LaVern) Morlock, Gackle, ND, and 2 sister-in-laws, Joan Morlock, WA, and Elsie Schlenker, Gackle, ND.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 brothers and 1 sister.

The graveside service will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday October 23, 2008 at the Gackle Cemetery, Gackle, ND, with Rev. Susan Lester, officiating.

Visitation - 10:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M. Wednesday @ the funeral home in Gackle.
