Eunice Ott, 93, Steele, ND died Saturday morning April 22, 2006 at the Med Center One Golden Manor in Steele, ND.
Eunice Welter was born December 16, 1912 at Crookston, MN, the daughter of Joseph Welter and Orphie Mae (Warner) Welter. She attended the local school where she received her elementary education and grew to womanhood in the vicinity.
She and Orville James Ott were married January 25, 1930 in the Crookston area, they farmed in the McIntosh area for many years before moving to San Francisco, CA. There she worked as a seamstress for many clothing factories. Following the death of her husband February 18, 1973, she continued to reside in California until June of 1975 when she moved back to Crookston to be near family. She went to work for the Foster Grandparent Program from 1985 until 1995, she also was a Secretary for the Crookston Senior Citizens for many years. In 1997 she moved to Steele, ND to be closer to her daughter and granddaughter, Cheryl Mueller.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Crookston.
She is survived by her son, Leroy (Ann) Ott, San Francisco, CA, 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, 1 sister, Violet (Edwin) Hanson, Babbitt, MN, and many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 2 daughter, Lois Ott, Elaine Horn, 2 brothers, James Welter, Vernon Welter, 1 grandson, Brett Ott and 1 great-great grandson Braden Vliem.
The funeral service will be at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday April 25, 2006 at the Trinity Lutheran Church at Crookston, MN, with Pastor Marsha Smith, officiating.
