Esther Weixel, 85, Jamestown, ND died Sunday morning May 1, 2005 at the Innovis Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Esther Krieger was born August 22, 1919 at Medina, ND the daughter of Gust Krieger and Elizabeth (Moser) Krieger. She received her elementary education in the local rural school. During the 1930's she moved with her family to Worden, MT.
She and Alvin Weixel were married November 24, 1940 at Worden, MT. They made their home in Montana until 1941 when they returned to North Dakota and settled on a farm North of Alfred, ND. In 1947 they moved to a farm 3 miles West of Sydney, ND. In 1962 she went to work at the Jamestown Hospital as a nurse's aid. In 1974 they moved into Millarton, ND until 1982 when she retired from the hospital and they moved to a farm 5 miles South of Jamestown. Following the death of her husband March 22, 1999 she has continued to reside on the farm.
She was a member of the First Congregational UCC Church, Jamestown, ND.
Surviving are her children, Mrs. Donna Buchanan, Jamestown, ND, Vernon (Michell) Weixel, Drayton, ND, Alan (Darlene) Weixel, Montpelier, ND, 10 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren 2 brothers and 2 sisters, Gideon (Anna) Krieger, Billings, MT, Johnny (Hilda) Krieger, Worden, MT, Martha Baum, Billings, MT, Leona (George) Brazer, Laurel, MT.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 granddaughter, 1 brother and 2 infant sisters.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM Thursday May 5, 2005 in the First Congregational Church in Jamestown, ND with Pastor Bryce Tahran, officiating.
Interment will be made in the Highland Home Cemetery in Jamestown, ND.
